The “Summer School” project implemented on the initiative of the Pedagogical University and supported by the Armenia Youth Foundation was launched on 11 August.
Within the framework of the project forty students will spend around 14 days at the University of Oulu in Finland, at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, as well as at the educational unit of the Pedagogical University in Aghavnadzor.
Within the scope of the “Summer School” project, the educational unit in Aghavandzor will welcome 7 students from the Finland University of Oulu, 10 students from the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, and 5 students from the Artsakh State university together with twenty students from the Pedagogical University for ten days to spend a part of their summer break full of a variety of educational –cultural events.
The ASPU Vice-Rector Ara Yeremyan, who greeted the participants in the name of the Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan, Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan and assured that the project is quite comprehensive and meaningful including historical cognitive visits to the sights of interest of Armenia, hiking at the Southern pick of mountain Aragats, a sightseeing tour in the capital city.

The foreign guest learned more about the hosting country also by watching the movie about Armenia and the ASPU, authored by a Pedagogical student.
Among those present at the summer school was also the ASPU President of the Student Council Mr. Nersik Margaryan, members of Students Council, the Deputy Head of the Department of Chess and Sports Mr. Souren Barseghyan and other representatives of the University’s structural units.
On the first day of the “Summer School” the students made a visit to the medieval monastic complex, the Tatev Monastery. The participants of the project made a tour in the complex, after which they took the ropeway which is called “The Wings of Tatev”.
As a matter of fact, great contribution was made by the Student Council to making the day unique for the students of the ASPU, the University of Oulu of Finland and the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences with various games and discussions held during the whole day.

We would like to remind, that the “Summer school” project having essential educational and cognitive meaning is exceptional. It aims at contributing to intercultural discourse and new cooperation, grants an opportunity for students to develop foreign language skill and to make friends with the foreign students.
The official closing event will be held on 19 August.
