Finnish and Lithuanian students ‘discover’ Amberd thanks to Summer School project

Within the framework of the “Summer School” project implemented on the initiative of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) with the support of the Youth Foundation of Armenia, participants from Armenia, Finland and Lithuania ascended the southern summit of Mount Ararat.

 
 
The group got to Kari Lake (Kari Lich) which is located 3207m above sea level. The students were unable to reach the top of the mountain because of unfavourable weather conditions.
 
 
The next stop was Amberd medieval fortress where the Finnish and Lithuanian students had the opportunity to admire the historical castle built in the 10th century.
 
 
Accompanied by a guide, the participants of the programme discovered the ‘secrets’ of construction and conservation of the medieval Armenian fortress.
