Under the initiative of the Armenian State Pedagogical University, with the assistance of the Armenian Youth Foundation, the “Summer School” programme was launched in Lithuania on 3 August.
Within the scope of the project, ten students went the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences in Vilnius where during a three-week visit the students managed to get familiar with the Lithuanian culture, history, as well as to learn a little bit of elementary Lithuanian.
The daily agenda was enriched with Lithuanian language courses, group works, interactive games, and a variety of educational and cultural visits to the historical capital city Kaunas, the Trakai Island Castle, etc.
During the interview to the armspu.am the students of the University after Kh. Abovian admitted that they were impressed with the museums and churches in Vilnius.
The students also mentioned that the participants of the project were coming from ten different countries which, according to them, was the best manifestation of intercultural communication; the multi-national environment gave them the opportunity for the foreign peers to communicate with one another, to familiarize themselves with a diversity of cultures, to discuss the possibilities of participation in other exchange programmes too.
During the cultural soiree organized within the framework of the ”Summer School”programme the ASPU students proudly introduced the Armenian culture, history, architecture, cuisine and national dances.
“I do not believe that you are real; there is so much kindness, beauty and intelligence in you, in your big eyes- this is the opinion of the Lithuanian “Summer School” Coordinator Vilam Leonavisenen about the Pedagogical Students.
The latter also expressed his warm attitude towards the Pedagogical Students granting them participation certificates which, by the way, is equal to 3 academic credits.
What is more, the ASPU students who were spending their summer holidays at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences within the scope of the “Summer School” programmes, were present at the “Summer School” Closing event at the ASPU Aghavandzor educational unit base on 19 August.
In their turn the students told about their impressions after which expressed their thankfulness to the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan for the granted opportunity.
