Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology begins new academic year with new dean

The Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology today elected a new dean. The only candidate for the position was Ruzanna Petrosyan, Acting Dean of the Faculty, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor.

 

Under the University’s regulations, the election was conducted by Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan, with members of the Faculty Council approving the agenda. 

 

Before the election, Ruzanna Petrosyan presented the main directions of development of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, citing international standards as the basis for progressive development.

 

The Acting Dean of the Faculty made several proposals, including organization and provision of psychological services, introduction of modern IT methods, existence of teaching staff with appropriate professional qualifications, faculty evaluation process in order to assess the effectiveness of teaching professionals, as well as promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of the work with students, using scientific-pedagogical potential of the staff, encouraging young lecturers and deepening international and foreign relations.

 

Members of the Faculty Council approved the program, viewing its provisions as a priority. They agreed that the problems raised in the program are simplified and clarified. They also asked questions, made proposals and expressed opinions. 

 

 

ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan approved the program presented by Acting Dean Ruzanna Petrosyan, stressing that the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology is an important scientific and educational centre in Armenia. He also urged the attendees to implement the provisions of the program and bring the Faculty to a qualitatively new level.

 

At the end of speeches, the Faculty Council elected [by secret ballot] Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor Ruzanna Petrosyan as Dean of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology.
