KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

The start of the new academic year was announced on September 1 in all educational institutions in Armenia, including Armenian State Pedagogical University.

Festive celebrations were held in all faculties of the University on the occasion of Knowledge Day. Over 880 first-year student taking Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses at the ASPU were welcomed and congratulated by Vice Rectors, Deans and members of the teaching staff who wished the freshmen academic achievements and  professional accomplishments during the years of study at the ASPU. 

The anthem of the University officially announced the start of the 2014-2015 academic year which was followed by the introduction of the teaching staff and educational process.

The Faculty of Special Education welcomed its freshers in a unique and original way: senior students received the newcomers with special posters, thereby helping them orient inside the new educational institution.

In her congratulatory address, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Srbouhi Gevorgyan assured the future educators that the Pedagogical University is the educational smithy where education is entrusted to high-quality and caring professionals. 

Vice-Rector for General Affairs Armen Tamazyan highlighted [in his speech] the role and importance of education in the modern world and called on students to become qualified professionals, demonstrate high academic performance and realize that the hard work of educating future generations is placed in their hands.

Ara Yeremyan, Vice-Rector for Personnel and International Cooperation, also congratulated students on the Day of Knowledge and the stat of a new academic year. 

The Vice-Rector pointed out the positive trends observed at the University in recent years and said the University is ready to do everything possible to prepare high-quality educators.

After congratulations and speeches, students proceeded to their first classes for the new academic year.
