On the 100th commemoration of the Genocide various events are organized in the Republic of Armenia, Artsakh and in the Diaspora.
Within this framework the ASPU Professor of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, Department of Geography and its Teaching Methods YurikMouradyan together with the second year student NorayrMartirosyan made a marching on the Yerevan-Stepanakert route from 30 July to 8 August.
The Hiking started from the Tsitsernakaberd hill after laying flowers at the eternal fire.

“Belief, will-power and respect towards 1.5 million innocent victims encouraged to organize that marching which meant not only to pay a tribute to the innocent victims but also to make the announcement of convicting the carnage of all countries of the world who do not recognize the Armenian Genocide, but often speak about democracy”, Mr. YurikMouradyan mentioned in his interview to the old.aspu.am.
Yerevan-Artashat-Yeraskh-Zangakatwun-Yeghegnadzor-Gorayq-Iskkhanasar-Goris-Berdzor-Shoushi-Stepanakaert – 363 km route, the professor made a detailed description of the rout they had passed telling about the impressions he received as a geographer, what he saw and the peculiarities of the Armenian nature.
What is more, the professor noticed that one of the most difficult roads to overcome was that on the Goris-Berdadzor-Shoushi rout where two days were spent.
On 8 August, on the tenth day of the rout the students of the University after Kh. Abovyan visited the children sports-school in NKR, went to the State University of Artsakh, met the Rector ManoushMinasyan.
An agreement was achieved to support the university with geography textbooks, dictionaries, and if possible, to deliver lectures in Stepanakert once or twice a year.
