KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

From 22- 24 September, delegation of the RA Ministry of Education and Science headed by the Minister Armen Ashotyan paid a visit to Tallinn and Tartu  by the invitation of the Minister of Research and Investigations of Estonia.

One of the members of the delegation was the Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan. On the second day of the visit the delegation visited the biggest academic institution of the region – the University of Tartu which was founded in the 17th century.

As a matter of fact the illustrious Armenian writer, illuminator Khachatur Abovyan was one of the outstanding graduates of the University of Tartu.Today, the University of Tartu is included into the first three percentages of the best universities of the world.

During the visit a further cooperation agreement was achieved between the ASPU and the University of Tartu. The ASPU Rector, Professor Rouben Mirzakhanyan invited the Rector of the University of Tartu Mr. Volli Kalm to Armenia. The invitation was accepted with acknowledgments.
