With the assistance of the ASPU Student Council, students of the Faculty of History and Jurisprudence visited the medieval monastery complexes of Saghmosavank and Amberd.
Susanna Khachatryan, a lecturer of the Department of Armenian History, Candidate of History, highlighted the importance of conducting lessons in such places, saying it helps students understand the material much better when they get familiarized with the methods and forms of the construction and architectural solutions on the spot.
Tigran Khachatryan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of History and Jurisprudence, added that similar visits help students know their homeland better and fill them with patriotism and pride. “This is a good opportunity to shape among future educators the sense of ownership over their homeland and historical heritage,” he said.
Talented students of the Faculty, Ani Mkrtchyan and Avetik Gevorgyan, made the visit all the more interesting with folk songs and dances.
