ASPU Rector attends 3rd CIS Congress of Teachers and Education Workers in Minsk

The National Library of Belarus hosted on October 1 a forum entitled “Cooperation between the National Education Systems of the CIS Member States as an Education Quality Improvement Factor.”

 

Over 500 delegates attended the third CIS Congress of Teachers and Education Workers in Minsk. Partaking in the Congress were school and nursery teachers, methodologists, representatives of international and intergovernmental organizations of the CIS, scholars, government officials, heads of publishing houses, MPs, politicians, cultural and art workers.

 

An Armenian delegation headed by Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan also participated in the Congress. ASPU Rector Ruben Mirzakhanyan was among the Armenian delegates. Armen Ashotyan and Ruben Mirzakhanyan delivered speeches during the solemn opening. 

 

The solemn ceremony was followed by plenary discussions on the quality of general secondary education and national evaluation systems, effective education technologies, education management, professional competence of teachers, implementation of innovations in education, upbringing of children in open national education systems, socialization and integration of children with disabilities, and a model Education Code for the CIS countries.

 

Rectors of Pedagogical Universities of CIS Member States held a meeting on October 2.  The exhibition “Education in CIS - Cooperation Without Borders” was opened on the sidelines of the Congress which showcased the latest books and manuals and the achievements of the Belarusian education system, as well as new manuals, materials and publications of CIS member states.
