According to a well-established tradition to host at Armenian State Pedagogical University leading foreign specialists, the Faculty of Special Education today hosted Swiss Professor Maya Feylman, a representative of the Aid for Armenia Organization.
During the meeting with ASPU lecturers and students, the professor presented the educational system of Switzerland. She particularly focused on the social system of the country, saying its main component is the attitude towards children with special needs.
In her speech, the Swiss specialist also presented the trends and developments in the field of special education in her country, noting that a different attitude has been displayed towards the creation of inclusive schools in the local 26 regions.
The Swiss specialist, one of the special educators who are conducting training workshops at the “ArBeS” Health and Day Care Centre in Armenia, does not conceal her astonishment: after studying the field of inclusive education in Armenia for ten years she observed that the field develops very rapidly, recording numerous successes.
Manushak Yeritsyan, Director of the “ArBeS” Health and Day Care Centre, and Gayane Zakaryan, Head of the Rehabilitation Service of the Centre, also participated in the meeting.
