
Mr. Garnik Karapetyan is a graduate of the Pedagogical University, Department of Operating; despite that, he received the grand prize in nomination “the Best Documental Film” in the 8th International Film Festival “Yes em/ This is me” where he participated as a Producer.
Mr. Garnik Karapetyan shoot the movie “My country Armenia” with Timelapse technologies; which produce a thousand photos shot from a static spot; around 30 000 photos were used in the film which are mainly presenting the flavor of Yerevan and its churches in the night.
What is more, Mr. Garnik Karapetyan mentioned during his conversation with the old.aspu.am that he previously received various awards but this one is special.

“The applauds were frank and sincere which serves as a proof that the film received high appraisal. “My country Armenia” is like a bar for me; all following films must afterwards be even better than this one.”
When speaking about the prize, Mr. Garnik Karapetyan remembered his teachers with particular acknowledgement; the memorable lecturers Albert Yavouryan and the group leader Martun Shabazyan adding that he rarely communicated with artists, however as he stated he learned a lot from them.
The Head of Department of Operating, artistic photography and social-cultural activities Mr. Rouben Yerznkyan was a member of the jury of the festival; the Professor observed that participation in such festivals improves diligence and stimulates for increased exchange of experience and competitiveness.
Moreover, Mr. Rouben Yerznkyan shortly described Mr. Garnik Karapetyan’s film defining it as interesting and full of meaning.

We should mention that the annual International Film Festival “This is me”, organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture, aims at supporting the young creators to find themselves and their role in modern cinematography, as well as to foster the formation of a new generation of cinema. Among the regular participants of competing events of the Film Festival are young cinematographers from different countries, including the USA, Lithuania, Russian Federation, Germany, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, etc.
Around 60 out of 118 films presented at the 8th International Film Festival “This is me” were selected and shown during the competitions.
