Guests of the ASPU Museum

A few days ago, the ASPU Museum welcomed the children of the “Fritiof Nansen” orphanage of Gyumri and the pupils of the Yerevan School N150 after Nansen, on the initiative of the Department of History of Armenia of the Pedagogical University, the “Tsiranavor” NGO and the “Zinvor”(Soldier) Coordinating Council,. 

 

The ASPU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Ms. Srbouhi Gevorgyan highlighted this undertaking and expressed hope to see such visits on continuous basis.

 

The Vice-Rector introduced the past and the present activities of the University with 90 years’ history hoping that visiting the University will improve citizens’ personal development, formulation of professional features and making the professional choice.

 

 

The ASPU Head of Department of History of Armenia, Doctor of Historical Sciences Mr. Ashot Piliposyan also emphasized the importance of the visit of the pupils assuring that the day would be enriched with warmth and interesting episodes.

 

The Chairman of the “Zinvor”(Soldier) coordinating council Ms. Margarita Khachatryan, who was also present at the event, didn’t hide the fact that the Pedagogical University always supported the establishment of the university-army cooperation.

 

“For many years I was the biggest friend of orphanages and passed my motherly blessing to you. And today, with the similar motherly love I urge you to study well, to acquire professional skills in this educational centre after Abovyan and to become scientists”.

 

In addition, the young guests of the Pedagogical University participated in the lesson-excursion “Creation of Armenian Alphabet”, and the high-school students made a tour in the museum and with utmost interest “watched and listened” to the Great Enlightener Khachatur Abovyan.

 

What is more, the guests of the Pedagogical prepared a surprise; they made a presentation about the life and activities of Khachatur Abovyan accompanied by a video story.

 

In fact, the guests were also welcomed by the ASPU Rector Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan in his office. At the end of the visit the children left the University excited and with bright impressions, and the staff of the ASPU museum assured that museum-orphanage-school cooperation would be of continuous nature.
