Today, the Pedagogical University Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan hosted the representatives of the teaching-professorial team of the University who had recently participated in the international conference headed “Chess at Schools” in Armenia.
The ASPU Rector spoke about the importance of the conference, highly praised the reports submitted by the pedagogues-sociologists and psychologists, considering them as the result of serious research activities.
“Armenia is the first country where Chess has been included into the school curricula. The Armenian experience is particular in this sense. For that very reason, you- young pedagogues should be consistent and study both psychological and sociological aspects of the Chess in your research works and announce these materials to the attention of the whole world.”
Moreover, Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan stated that the success of the conference was due to the immense work undertaken by the President- Founder of the Chess Federation of Armenia, the ASPU Head of Department of Chess and Sports Mr. Smbat Lputyanand, after which granted him the “Pedagogical University” medal.
In his turn, Mr. Smbat Lputyan expressed his acknowledgements to the Rector of the Pedagogical for support and active participation in dissemination of the role of Chess and observed that there was still a lot to do and the work should continue; we are leaders in the Chess and we serve as an example for the whole World.
