ASPU Professor Presented His Individual Exhibition in Germany
11.11.2014

From 16 October till 3 November, the Lecturer of the Pedagogical University, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Arthur Martirosyan presented his individual exhibition in the Kuntshouse exhibition hall of the city of Erlangen, Germany.

This initiative was undertaken by the German side; the organizers of the exhibitions had got familiar with Artur Martirosyan’s works at the master’s art studio in Armenia.

At the exhibition named “Landscapes” around 70 works were presented by the Armenian painter - abstract pieces with discrete and totally new motives.

“In the past I used to be a landscapist creating under certain conventionalities. But today, my works are realistic abstract creations about the nature of a human inner world”, Artur Martirosyan mentioned in his interview to the old.aspu.am.

The painter also notices that drawing admiration and reproduction has been exhausted itself long ago.

“Today I am creating to reflect, to philosophize, to ponder over and to self-criticize. I have been enumerating my works for a long term; I am no longer giving them titles in order not to urge or distract the observer, to let them think, aiming to free their mind.”

What is more, Artur Martirosyan, who had individual exhibitions both in Armenia and in a number of foreign countries, is assured that a painter should be familiar with his predecessors’ works, should know what was done before him and then clearly realize his further activities.

“If you have something serious to say, you should be the first one; in order to reach success in art, one should put in a new word. 21st century is the age of abstract painting that allows continuance; all the remaining “-izmes”-s have exhausted themselves long ago”.

Moreover, the Professor is sure that the art is not for small towns and small states. In order to achieve success one should expand the cognitive field and educate oneself; that is the guarantee of success.

“I am continuously changing and so is my taste. The nature of the external world is no longer satisfying me; I am trying to discover the inner world in my new kind of paintings filling them with my emotions. I am the only one in the World, who draws in that direction; I know and I am fully convinced of what I am doing,” the painter Artur Martirosyan concluded.
