Today, a true holiday was all around the Pedagogical University; the students were celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Student Council and the International Students Day. Besides, the results of the “Best Student” annual awards were summarized today.
Among those invited to this celebration organized on the initiative of the ASPU SC and the Armenian Youth Foundation were the Pedagogical University Board Members, the NA
Chairman Mr. Galust Sahakyan, the NA Deputy-Chairman Mr. Eduard Sharmazanov, the Minister of ES Mr. Ashot Ashotyan, the Coordinator of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Youth Foundation Mr. Karen Avagyan and other guests.
The winner of the “ASPU Best Student 2014” was announced by the previous year’s winner of the same title, the student of the Faculty of Special Education Asya Hakobyan; this year the student of the Faculty of History and Law, Department of History Anna Mkrtchyan is the winner of the “Best Student” awards.
The latter was dreaming about becoming a pedagogue for many years; and now she is extremely happy that her parents urge and utmost desire has been fulfilled, and that she has tried to reach the heights all on her own.
“I am proud to be the student of the Pedagogical University, the Faculty of History and Law, in particular; nevertheless, I wouldn’t even imagine about becoming the best student of the University. I promise to carry the title of the “Best Student” with honour and pride”.
What is more, Mr. Karen Avagyan presented tablets to the best students of ten Faculties in the name of the Foundation. Likewise, the “Best Student” winner Anna Mkrtchyan was awarded a trip to Cyprus from the University.
On the 20th anniversary of the Student Council the Rector of the University Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan granted the “Pedagogical University” Medals to the previous Presidents of the Student Council Mr. Zarzand Asatryan, Mr. Eduard Sharmazanov ,SC President Nersik Margaryan
A film telling about the 20 years of operation of the Student Council, congratulations both from Armenian and foreign student societies, and a gala concert.
On this occasion, famous and well-known singers Eva Rivas, Sona Shahgeldyan, Gor Soujyan, Sona Roubenyan, Aram MP3, Vardan Galstyan and other Armenian pop artists congratulated on the International Students Day and on the 20 years old ASPU SC.
