24.11.2014

A lesson was organized for third-year students of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology majoring in Social Pedagogy during which special reference was made to the structural and conceptual model of project-based learning (PBL) technology and its implementation phases.

What does PBL give to learners and educators? Is it efficient or not? The students answered these and other questions, referring to the technologies applied during the process and the forms of participation.

Marina Vardanyan, a lecturer of the Department of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy, says in order to provide high-quality education it is necessary to use new approaches and new methods.

Summarizing the event, Marina Vardanyan stressed the importance of modern educational technologies, their role and importance in the learning process and added that PBL technology enables students to demonstrate flexibility and independence in the planning process, at the same time promoting development of critical thinking.

Professor Aida Topuzyan, Head of the Department of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy, expressed her satisfaction with the lesson and advised the students to always achieve their goals, without forgetting the environment, the mechanisms of influence and the correct use of pedagogical terms.

At the end of the lesson, the students [together with lecturers] found the drawbacks and shortcomings of the lesson conducted by the PBL approach.
