Members of the Literary Club of the Faculty of Primary Education today visited pupils of ASPU Primary School N57 after Vahan Totovents.
At the head of Eva Mnatsakanyan, Associate Professor at the Department of Native Language and its Teaching Methods, the students staged for junior pupils “The True Friend,” a play by playwright and children’s writer Ruben Marukhyan, which is intended for a puppet theatre.
Taking into account the age peculiarities of elementary school-aged children, the members of the Literary Club staged the play twice; first for the 1st and 2nd graders and then for the 3rd and 4th graders.
Before the performance, the members of the Literary Club talked to pupils and tried to arouse their interest in the topic through different questions.
The children watched the play with great enthusiasm. The main characters of the play – the Hedgehog (Anush Ghazaryan) and the Dog (Aida Kalashyan) - revealed [with their actions] the secret of a true friend.
After the performance the children asked the future educators numerous questions: the answers showed that the unique ‘lesson’ of the day had served its purpose. “A true friend is always by your side and helps you through hard times,” said one of the children.
The performance was attended by School Principal Naira Toghanyan, Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education Heghine Khachatryan, the teaching staff of the Faculty, form teachers, and Master’s degree students who are doing their internship at School N57 after Vahan Totovents.
