From November 3 to December 5, 15 students of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology majoring in “Social Pedagogy” and “Psychology and Pedagogy” did their pedagogical internship at the Career Orientation Methodology Centre of the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
An internship program had been drafted at the initiative of Haykuhi Gevorgyan, Director of the Career Orientation Methodology Centre. The program was coordinated with the University's internship program.

During the internship, the students got acquainted with the professional orientation policy priorities in Armenia and the new unified system, as well as the process of lifelong career guidance and management in different countries.
They also discussed the model of professional orientation in the education sector, which includes information on specialty selection and counseling, specifics of the selection process, problems and principles, methods and the expected results.
Relying on their knowledge and skills the students made thorough analysis, and presented methodological and project proposals.

At the head of Shahane Beglaryan, a graduate of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, who is now a leading specialist at the Career Orientation Methodology Center, the students carried out professional orientation courses for the pupils of N160 Primary School in Yerevan.
Based on the eight core capacities, training was organized for the students with the aim of promoting their personal growth and increasing competitiveness in the labour market.

At the end of the internship, together with the representatives of the Centre the students discussed the results of the internship, and outlined their future steps in that direction. The theoretical knowledge acquired during the internship was strengthened with practical activities and exercises.

“During the internship, I highlight the effective cooperation between a university and the host company, implementation of successful internship under a single program, as well as employer's participation in professional education programs. For the first time the students participated in qualification courses, learned to conduct lessons for small groups, write programs, apply practical and research methods and acquired professional confidence,” lecturer Hakob Tadevosyan said in conversation with old.aspu.am.

The practical lesson at the Centre was organized at the initiative of Mr Tadevosyan.
