Final Academic Board Session of the Year

Today, the Academic Board held its final session of the current year at the Pedagogical University. 

 

The Rector of the University Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan made a report on activities conducted in 2014; he presented the cash flow dynamics from 2010-14,  the distribution of cash flow in 2013, the dynamics of total number of students and the freshmen per academic year. What is more, the Rector spoke about the distribution of the cash flow, inflow and outflow of cash in 2015.

 

 

 

 

In addition, during the presentation Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan spoke about a number of initiatives undertaken at the University, mentioned the upcoming activities emphasizing the renovation of the Pedagogical College after Aksel Bakunts that once belonged to the University and the idea of turning one of the University buildings into a hostel campus being sure that it will contribute to involvement of overseas students into the learning process.

 

What is more, the Rector also highlighted the reconstruction of the ASPU secondary and high schools expressing a hope that it will become an educational center soon.

 

 

“Improvement of the learning process, effective work of the University’s career center and our students’ employment issues are the priorities of the University,” he noticed adding that during the last years approximately 90 per cent of the people employed by the University are our graduates.

 

 

At the end of the speech the Rector of the Pedagogical University Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan congratulated those present with the upcoming New Year wishing them great personal and professional achievements promising to have a successful upcoming year.

 

 

 

In their turn, members of the Academic board were quite content with the activities carried out in the ongoing year and made suggestions to create psychological and sociological laboratories; the Rector promised to set the start of the mentioned activities in the coming year. Later on the Director of the Research Center Mr. Kamo Vardanyan reported to the Academic board members about the performance of research topics funded by the state budget.

 

Thematic, basic financing, Chair research activities, national school text-books, other grant programmes, preferences- the Director of the Research center introduced the scope of research activities.

 

Likewise, in his speech Mr. Kamo Vardanyan referred to the basic topics, thematic research programmes funded by the RA MES State Committee Science, as well as financing of research programmes and conferences.

 

Policy of encouraging the research activities by the junior staff and conducting international research, ensuring effectiveness of introducing fundamental and practical research in the educational process, preserving plagiarism and quotation norms, research strategic concept paper and vision of pedagogical and psychological education. The Director of the Research Center one by one mentioned the activities aimed at developing the legal framework for the research policy during the final session of the Academic board.

 

Besides, Mr. Kamo Vardanyan underlined the conferences held at the University in the ongoing year noting that four of them were international, eight of them were republican and seven of them were funded by the RA MES State Committee of Science.

 

Speaking about the other fulfilled activities the Director of the Center presented the publishing activities, printed pieces, and mentioned the number of articles published in international peer-reviewed journals highlighting the growth of lecturers included into the professional boards.Similarly, Mr. Kamo Vardanyan explained the procedure of professional qualification trainings and activities aimed at postgraduate education.

 

And last but not least, activities performed within the framework of basic and thematic funding were introduced at the end of the report.  Various speeches and suggestions were made at the session.

 

Among those participating in the final Academic board session were not only the Academic board members, but also the representatives of the University’s teaching professorial team, all persons interested in the University’s activities in 2014. At the end of the session the Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan congratulated those present on the New Year and Christmas holidays.
