Army Day celebrations held at ASPU High School
29.01.2015

In the hands of soldiers swords are shining,

When weapons are silent, soldiers are singing,

This happy day comes with weapons,

This happy day comes with soldiers’ songs...

With this fighting and festive mood, primary and high-school pupils of the ASPU High School (College) started an event dedicated to the 23th anniversary of the Armenian Army in the yard of school.

Warlike atmosphere was perceived everywhere: the children’s eyes were burning with faith in their independent country and filling with pride during the performance of the national anthem and military oath.

The event was attended by Gegham Deacon Avetisyan, a pastor of St. Grigor Lusavorich (St. Gregory the Illuminator) Armenian Apostolic Church, responsible for universities and youth affairs, who gave his blessings to the pupils and guests. The pastor congratulated everyone on the Army Day, wishing everyone to become a soldier by calling and mission.

The school also hosted officers and soldiers of Military Unit â„– of Armenian Defence Ministry's peacekeeping forces, as well as third-year students of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology specializing in Military Psychology.

“Our valiant soldiers are the basis of our army,” Major David Arzumanyan and Captain Slavik Avetisyan said in their congratulatory remarks.

Events dedicated to the Armenian Army continued in classrooms, with pupils speaking about patriotism and reading out letters written by soldiers who are keeping our borders steadfast.

On the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces, Commander of the military unit, Major-General A. V. Simonyan, awarded Principal of ASPU High School Naira Safaryan with a diploma for the close cooperation with the military unit.
