KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) recently hosted Fabien Flori, Regional Director of Bureau for Central and Eastern Europe (BECO), Academic Agency of La Francophonie (Agence universitaire de la Francophonie -AUF). 

The meeting was attended by Ara Yeremyan, ASPU Vice-Rector for Personnel and International Cooperation, Srbuhi Gevorgyan, ASPU Vice-Rector for Educational and Scientific Affairs, Donara Ghazaryan, Head of the Department of Romance Languages, and Kristina Tsaturyan, Head of the International Cooperation Unit. 

After introducing the University to the guest, Mr Yeremyan stressed the importance of close cooperation with the AUF.

In her speech, Srbuhi Gevorgyan focused on the University’s research activities on local and international levels and the main areas of interest. 

Director of regional AUF Office Fabien Flori was especially impressed by the University’s research activities. The parties reached an agreement on expanding the University’s scientific collaboration network and organizing joint research with francophone universities.

Donara Ghazaryan, Head of the Department of Romance Languages, spoke about the spread of the French language and the importance of its teaching. 

During the meeting, reference was also made to the process of internalization of the University, the results expected from the cooperation between the ASPU and AUF, as well as implementation of joint programs for spreading the French language and creating favourable conditions and resources for its teaching.
