The results of the second international photo contest “I am a Student” were summed up recently.

Hayk Manukyan, a third-year student of the Faculty of Culture majoring in Artistic Photography, participated in the contest organized by the Youth Foundation of Armenia and the Aivazovsky Society for Charity and Patronage Assistance. He came second in the Best Report category.

Talking to old.aspu.am, the young photographer said he had taken the photo with his coursemates at the top of Mount Hatis [in Kotayk province].

Hayk Manukyan has participated in many contests and won numerous prizes. Though he takes pictures of everything that interests him, Hayk confesses that he is greatly inspired by nature. He even recalls his first photograph that portrays nature.

“A photographer, first of all, needs to have a sharp vision, then a good camera and equipment to show people what others failed to notice,” Hayk told old.aspu.am, stressing that he inherited his sharp vision from his ancestors were also photographers based in Igdir.

Hayk also singled out his photographs related to the Armenian Genocide and promised to show them at the first opportunity.
