
The Pedagogical University’s Faculty of History and Law launched a series of events dedicated to the 100th commemoration of the Armenian Genocide with an opening lecture presented by the specialist from the PázmányPéter Catholic University of Hungary Peter Paul Kranits.
The newly appointed specialist of the Faculty of History and Law Mr.Edgar Hovhannisyan highlighted the importance of the initiative assuring that public lectures will continue and in future conferences will also be organized together with film watching events with the participation of leading international and local specialists.

In his turn, Peter Paul Kranits, who is specializing in the sphere of Genocide and conducts researches about the Armenian Genocide, and during his lecture headed “Armenian Genocide, Refugees and Hungary”spoke about the process of Armenian refugees establishing in Central and Eastern Europe , as well as the formation of the Armenian Diaspora bringing the example of Hungary.
Further on, a number of actual issues were discussed in the course of the lecture referring to the Armenian-Hungarian relations, international acknowledgement of the Genocide, and the Turkish –Azerbaijani anti-Armenian policy.
Moreover, Peter Kranits also replied to the students’ and lecturers’ questions assuring them that there will be a deeper and continuous scientific cooperation with the Pedagogical University and that he will make a scientific publication in the yearbook of the Faculty of History and Law.
And last but not least, the Hungarian guest also visited the ASPU museum, got familiarized with the history and chronology of the University after which noted down his opinion and impressions over the visit in the museum’s memoirs.
