Armenian State Chamber Orchestra Performed at the Pedagogical University

Today, the Pedagogical University hosted the Armenian State Chamber Orchestra with the conductor Vahan Martirosyan. 

 

“This is one of the most important concerts for the Orchestra because we are preparing our future auditors – the younger generation, familiarizing them with theArmenian and world culture; there is no nation without a culture, is there?”mentioned the conductor VahanMartirosyan and assured that it was a huge advantage to have young listeners.

 

 

Speaking about the initiative of the Pedagogical University to bring the future pedagogues closer to classical music the conductor stated that a lecturer, ignorant in culture, cannot educate literate generations.

 

Antonio Vivaldi, Astor Piazzolla, Komitas, Edward Mirzoyan; during the concert the orchestra performed legendary and already favourite musical pieces of Armenian and international musicians.

 

 

The Director of the University’s Center of Culture, Professor ArkadiShekunts first introduced the audience with the history of establishment of the orchestra, the path they passed, achievements they had starting from the very first day up till now, after which he urged the students to attend the Chamber Music Hall and to listen to the performance of the orchestra that had immense success on an international platform.

 

“The cooperation between the University and the orchestra was set in 2011 during the graduation ceremony; we are raptured and full of hope that our friendship will last for many years”, mentioned the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan and awarded VahanMartirosyan with the Pedagogical University medal.

 

We would also like to mention that organizing classical music concerts has already become a tradition which aims at bringing students closer to the classical music.
