From 25-27 February, the Pedagogical University’s Vice-Rector for Education Quality and Distant Learning Tigran Avagyan, the Head of the Department of Education Reforms and Quality Mkrtich Avagyan, the Head of the Internship Department Vahan Sargsyan and the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Tigran Michaelyan participated in the regular seminar held within the framework of the TEMPUS MAHATMA programme “Education Management and Leadership” in Coblenz, Germany.
On this occasion, the seminar discussed topics related to teaching and learning methodologies and new European approaches of students’ assessment. Among the participants of the seminar were representatives from the RA Ministry of ES, National Agency for Quality Assurance, Armenian State Economic University, State University in Goris and Pedagogical University in Vanadzor, as well as representatives from four universities of Georgia.
The organizers of the seminar- experts form the Bath SPA and Middlesex Universities, presented their reports, and the ASPU representatives, in their turn, had an active participation in the discussions particularly introducing the University’s experience and approaches in relation to the abovementioned issues.
Moreover, among other topics mentioned during the workshop also were the issues of establishing Association of Education Specialists, its legal status and international membership.
In addition, the international expertise research of professional programmes held both in Armenian and Georgian universities, as well as further accreditation opportunities were also discussed at the end of the programme.
And last but not least, it was agreed to hold the concluding international conference of the programme in Georgia and the wrap-up conference at the ASPU in Armenia.
