On the occasion of the birthday of Armenian national hero Vazgen Sargsyan, students of Armenian State Pedagogical University, accompanied by members of the Youth Organization of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) visited Vazgen Sargsyan House-Museum and the military unit named after Vazgen Sargsyan to commemorate the Armenian Sparapet (Commander).
At Vazgen Sargsyan House-Museum [in Ararat village] the visitors were introduced to the biography of the national hero, his path as a state and political figure and other details.
In his speech, Karen Avagyan, an Armenian lawmaker, Chairman of the HHK Youth Organization, said every year young people visit Vazgen Sargsyan House-Museum, the military unit named after V. Sargsyan and Yerablur Pantheon to pay tribute to the national hero.
“The youth understands that they are to continue Vazgen Sargsyan’s patriotic deeds. We are the followers of his ideas and principles,” Karen Avagyan said stressing the educational nature of visits. It is important that young people understand who are honoured and worshiped as heroes and how these people become heroes.
Chairman of the ASPU Student Council Nerisk Margaryan added, in turn, that visits to Vazgen Sargsyan House-Museum and the military unit named after him have become a tradition, with students participating in them with great enthusiasm.
“The visits contribute to raising students’ patriotic spirit and strengthen ties between society and the military which is highly important nowadays,” he said.
The students then headed to the military unit after V. Sargsyan where a concert was held in honour of Sparapet. Also, best soldiers were awarded with certificates and presents.
Within the framework of events commemorating Vazgen Sargsyan, the students also visited Military Institute named after Vazgen Sargsyan.
