
Today, the Mayor of Yerevan Mr. Taron Margaryan and the Rector of the Armenain State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan Rouben Mirzakhanyan signed a memorandum of cooperation.
According to the memorandum, within the framework programmes implemented by the ASPU “University –Employers Cooperation Centre” the parties aim at supporting each other on the principle of reciprocity and are ready to cooperate for career and professional progress of the ASPU students, postgraduates, PhD students and Candidates.

The ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan considering the cooperation with the Yerevan Municipality normal highlighted that the Pedagogical University, being located in the capital city of Yerevan for many years, has had its specific contribution in the process of development of education and culture of the capital city.

Likewise, the Rector noticed that the memorandum includes specific directions that foresee the organization of professional activities of the most outstanding graduates of the University in the educational centers of the city; eventually the ASPU also has certain monopoly rights to increase the professional human resources.
“Dear Mayor, I am deeply grateful for your presence here and for the memorandum you signed today; it is extremely obliging and implies mutually effective work. As the Head of the Department of General Education Ms. Gayanei Soghomonyan observed it presumed serious discussions and regular summing up of the work performed.”

The ASPU Rector awarded the Mayor of Yerevan Mr. Taron Margaryan and Ms. Gayanei Soghomonyan with the University’s higher gold medal after “Khachatur Abovyan”.
The Mayor of Yerevan Mr. Taron Margaryan considered the cooperation with the pedagogical mother university as a huge educational –cultural achievement noticing that the human resources here and the organization of internships at the Municipality and at institutions under his supervision, will give the opportunity to create a team that will represent the capital city to the whole world in a due manner.

Moreover, Mr. Taron Margaryan considered the medal he received quite obliging and agreed that the mutually conducted work required a follow up and a mandatory conclusion.
Further on, the Mayor of Yerevan, in his turn, awarded the ASPU Head of Department of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor Aida Topuzyan and the Head of Department of Chess and Sports, International Grand Master Smbat Lputyan with the gold medal for their success in the sphere of education and science and for their significant merit they have had in the public life of Yerevan.

To sum up, we would also like to mention that the guests from the Yerevan Municipality were greeted by the Pedagogical University’s brass band and dance ensemble. Besides, they made a tour around the University, visited the scientific library, the new chess laboratory, the museum as well as the first university radio.
