
On the 91st year of life painter, the RA Honoured Art Worker, Professor of the Department of Fine Arts Levon Kojoyan passed away.
He was born in Kislovodsk, Russia in 1924. In 1947 he graduated from Yerevan Fine Arts College, and in 1952- the Yerevan Institute of Fine Arts. He was the student of Hakob Kojoyan, and was the lecturer at the Armenian State Pedagogical University since 1968.
Levon Kojoyan basically created landscapes and thematic portraits; “Spring”, 1958 “Mount Ara”, 1961 “The Elderly from Ashtarak”, 1980 “Afternoon, haying”, 1986 “The Rider”, 2003 series of spring landscapes “The blooming apricot tree”, 2000 “After the storm”, 2001. All his works are enriched with a huge vital optimism.
What is more, on the 90th anniversary of the Pedagogical University, by the order of the President Serzh Sargsyan, the ASSR Honoured Art Worker, Professor of the ASPU Department of Fine Art Levon Kojoyan was awarded the “Movses Khorenatsi medal” for his significant contribution in the field of science and education.
We would also like to mention that the funeral ceremony for the RA Honoured Art Worker Levon Kojoyan will be held at St. Hovhannes Church in Kond today, 12 March, and the burial ceremony will start from the RA Painters Union on Friday from 12:00-14:00.
