The Rector of the Belarus State Pedagogical University Alexander Zhuk is on a two-day visit in Armenia by the invitation of the Pedagogical University.
During his visit he made a tour around the University, went to the museum, got familiarized with the activities of the university radio, the academic library, met the staff of the ASPU International Research Institute of Metaphilosophy, transformational logic and theory of argumentation. Likewise, Alexander Zhuk was welcomed by the Pedagogical University’s Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan; besides, they had a discussion about further cooperation together with the University’s Vice-Rectors and the Head of International Cooperation Department.

Later on, during the meeting with the teaching staff and the students of the University, the ASPU Rector introduced the Belarus State Pedagogical University Rector highlighting that the latter, being a mathematician, is a prominent figure in the sphere of pedagogy and a great organizer of the education sector in the Republic of Belarus. Additionally, Rouben Mirzakhanyan mentioned that it had been more than a year that the ex-First Deputy Minister of Education of Belarus was running one of the largest educational institutions, the University after Maxim Tanki, which was similar to the ASPU with its mission to prepare specialists in different professions.
By the decision of the Academic board Rouben Mirzakhanyan granted Alexander Zhuk the title of the Honorary Doctor of the Pedagogical University.
In his turn, Alexander Zhuk considered it a great honor observing that it is a kind of new imprest and a new impulse for future cooperation and development of pedagogical education, and our nations’ friendship.
“There is a dynamic development between the universities and this trip will be particularly outstanding for a package of suggestions, a variety of cooperation edges, including lecturers’ and students’ exchange programmes, introduction of new courses, programmes aimed at increasing qualification and a wide scope of opportunities at leading European universities.”
The Rector of the Belarus State Pedagogical University also spoke about international cooperation and expressed his hope that having common partners would also contribute to new projects in that field and have new achievements,
“Belarus and Armenia have always been in good relationship and this cooperation will stimulate creating a common pedagogical educational environment and ensuring the prosperous future for the next generations.”
In addition, Alexander Zhuk delivered a lecture presenting his report on “Development of Pedagogical Education System in the Republic of Belarus; a Complex Approach”.
The latter also presented the structure of the university he is running, its academic process and peculiarities of the system.
The Rector of the Belarus State Pedagogical University after Maxim Tanki Alexander Zhuk was also greeted by the University’s ensembles and bands that performed their dance and musical pieces.
Within the scope of his visit the Rector of the Belarus State Pedagogical University met the Chairman of the RA National Assembly, the President of the ASPU Board Galust Sahakyan and the His Holiness Karekin II, and together with the delegation from the Pedagogical University he paid a visit to the Tsitsernakaberd memorial, the Cascade Complex, and the Research institute of old manuscripts after Mesrop Mashtots.
