KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

The RA NA President, Chairman of the ASPU Academic Board Mr. Galust Sahakyan welcomed the Rector of the Belarus State Pedagogical University after Maxim Tanki Mr. Alexander Zhuk; the latter paid a visit to the Parliament accompanied by the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan.

Mr. Alexander Zhuk was in Armenia on a two-day trip by the invitation of the Pedagogical University.

After greeting the Rector of the Belarus State Pedagogical University after Maxim Tanki, the NA President mentioned that he had studied the educational system in Belarus, the activities of the Pedagogical University, in particular, and he highly appreciates all steps aimed at the Armenian-Belarusian educational cooperation.

Likewise, the Chairman of the Pedagogical University’s Academic Board emphasized the cooperation of the University with various foreign universities and added that they had already agreed together with Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan on the liberalization of the University.

“The State is developing criteria and the educational system is implementing them herewith improving the academic processes.”

The Rector of the Belarus State Pedagogical University after Maxim Tanki, in his turn, expressed acknowledgements for the warm welcome, and highlighted that the University is an educational institution with a hundred-year history and already fixed educational traditions. “The Pedagogical University has an immense role in preparing human resources. The educational system in Belarus is in the stage of integration; the country is preparing itself for the membership to the Bologna process”. 

Moreover, Mr. Alexander Zhuk outlined the importance of cooperation of their Pedagogical University with the ASPU noting that in the immediate near future a students’ exchange programme would be conducted; as a result, the Belarus State Pedagogical University after Maxim Tanki would host 20 Armenian students.

Later on, the Rectors of the Belarus and the Armenian State Pedagogical Universities were welcomed by His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenian in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

During the meeting Karekin II expressed his gladness and appreciation about the collaboration between the two educational institutions and, welcoming the efforts aimed at developing closer cooperation, he hoped to see positive outcomes for both nations soon.

And last but not least, the Catholicos referred to the primary role and significance of education in the modern world observing that it is due to the realization of the importance of education that the parents, contrary to all kinds of difficulties, do their best to provide their children with proper education. 

“Today education is the guarantee of the future brighter days of all humanity creating a harmony and the wellbeing in the world.”
