KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Today, during the regular session of the ASPU Rector’s Office, on the decision of the RA Minister of Education and Science, the Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan  granted the Ministry’s supreme “Gold Medal” to the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Teaching Methods, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor Melanya Astvatsatryan, the Acting Head of Germanic Languages, Candidate of Philology, Professor Elena Mkhitaryan and Professor at the Department of Direction, Candidate of Study of Art Souren Hasmikyan.

Rouben Mirzakhanyan considered it logical to award proficient scientist having immense contribution in the field of education and science, afterwards, he mentioned that the medal is the truthful appreciation not only for the work performed at the Pedagogical University, but also for the outstanding activities carried out in the whole sphere of education and science in RA, a great amount of services and activities aimed at the development of the education system during 30-40 years. 

“My colleagues and I are glad to see that your academic activities are being developed at our university,” the Rector added.

In his turn the Professor of the Department of Direction Souren Hasmikyan expressed acknowledgements to the RA Minister of ES and to the Rector in the name of her colleagues and herself, still considering that the students’ memories and appraisal of their pedagogues are the best tribute.

“The city has changed, people have changed, a lot of them are missing, and suddenly you meet a stranger that approaches and asks you “How are you Mr. Hasmikyan?’, and then it turns out that you were giving lectures to him/her several years ago; I assume this is the utmost happiness for a Pedagogue.”
