Armenian State Pedagogical University sophomores of the Department of TV-Journalism frequently go to the country to carry out their practical work in different Armenian habitats.

So, the next regular trip was to Odzun, one of the beautiful sites in Lori, which is rich of various historical-architectural monuments, churches, monastic complexes, chapels, obelisks, gravestone monuments, khachkars (commemorative cross-stones), stone-cut caves, old dwellings, and other national architectural works.
The most well-known of all these monuments is the Odzun Monastery. Luckily, our trip coincided with the Easter holiday, thus, we had a wonderful opportunity to participate in the Holy Liturgy and received the sacrament, after which the Yessayi priest introduced us with the history of the monastery and the village rich of century-old legends and traditions.
Further on, we made a remarkable visit to Ardvin which also has a history coming from the depth of centuries; moreover, the renowned “Odziport” spring. Besides, here rests the body of the Catholicos Hovhan G Odznetsi who had chosen his birthplace as his residence during the last years of his life, and after his death his tomb became a place for pilgrimage.
The Ardvin people tell with profound reverence various legends and stories, and we were listening to and taking notes of those stories with journalistic curiosity.
That’s it about our regular journalistic trip during which Odzun became a new photo-album full of century-old traditions and legends.
