Recently, the Department of Music [Faculty of Culture, ASPU] gave a concert at the House of Culture of Armavir city. The concert entitled “We exist and we shall continue to exist” was organized within the framework of events commemorating the centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
The aim of the initiative was to familiarize the local youth and schoolchildren with Armenian wind instruments and to remind them once again of the heinous crime of the bygone era.
The program included 13 pieces of music, including folk songs and works of contemporary musicians. “The concert hall was packed with enthusiastic audience. We have agreed to perform similar concerts in Ashtarak, Vanadzor and other regions, where people are willing to listen to us. The aim of the benefit concerts is to spread Armenian music, present our national instruments, remind people of the Armenian Genocide and cheer up the audience with the slogan “We exist and we shall continue to exist,” Head of the Department of Music Ara Gevorgyan told old.aspu.am.
