ASPU Rector stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation with its universities in Russia. Mr Mirzakhanyan also suggested involving MGPU students in student exchange programs. In particular, he suggested that they participate in Summer School programs that are held at Aghavnadzor resort of Armenian State Pedagogical University and join students from the University of Oulu (Finland) and Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences at the summer camp. “This will be a good opportunity for our students to use two working languages – English and Russian – simultaneously. It will also contribute to the University’s new language policy adopted three years ago. Each student chooses one foreign language and must have an excellent command of the language before he/she graduates from the University.”
On the sidelines of his visit to Russia, Ruben Mirzakhanyan also participated in the Moscow-hosted forum “Education and Career in Mega-policies.”

Speaking about the vision of higher education institutions in the 21st century, Mr Mirzakhanyan said ‘quality education has become a serious problem nowadays. It implies a large number of students with diverse and specific geographical features, teaching in several languages, as well as exchange programs for students and lecturers. “Our Universities have a long history of cooperation, and I hope it will be continued in the future,” Mr Mirzakhanyan said.
The ASPU Rector also handed over a “Pedagogical University” medal to MGPU Rector Igor Remorenko and invited him to the ASPU.
