World Health Day celebrated at ASPU
11.04.2015

World Health Day, a global health awareness day, is celebrated every year on  April 7. In this connection, the Department of First Aid, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense organized a lecture for students to raise their awareness on different health issues.

In his speech, Head of the Department Hakob Grigoryan stressed the importance of the day and then spoke about the World health Organization (WHO), its establishment, goals and objectives. “The event is especially important nowadays when we are witnessing a massive increase in the number of various diseases, ecological problems and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The initiative is equally important for future educators, who, as future mothers and fathers, are responsible for building healthy families and educating future generations,” he stressed.

Anna Margaryan, a lecturer of the same Department, presented in detail basic principles of food hygiene, gave methodological tips and advised everyone to pay attention to personal hygiene, as well as food handling, preparation and storage.

Also, a film was screened during the meeting, which was followed by a question and answer session.
