The Rector of the Pedagogical University Rouben Mirzakhanyan and the Vice-Rector Mher Melik-Bakhshyan had a meeting with Valeri Solomin –the Rector of the Russian Pedagogical University after Herzen in Saint-Petersburg.
Among those present at the meeting were the Chairman of the University, Academician, the RF Honored Scientist Genadi Bardovski, Deputy of the Legislative Council of Saint-Petersburg Alexey Vorontsov, Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Science and High-School Irina Ganus, the RA Concul-General in Saint-Petersburg Hrayr Karapetyan.
The anthems of both countries sounded after which Rouben Mirzakhanyan and Valeri Solomin signed the Memorandum of Cooperation and agreed on further collaboration.
“The memorandum signed between the two universities is indeed a historical event. The friendly and pedagogical cooperation between the university having approximately three hundred years’ of history and the ASPU has been ongoing in the whole course of the 20th century. We have passed the same development process of formation of soviet educational system together with the Pedagogical University established in 1922.
Pedagogical education is a “peaceful” profession but it has an important role in stable development of society; we have a lot yet to do in the scientific-educational sphere. I hope that we will furthermore meet and summarize the results of our cooperation,” observed ValeriSolomin, the Rector of the Russian Pedagogical University after Herzen in Saint-Petersburg.
“Any memorandum is aimed at human communication, collaboration and development”, added the Chairman of the University, the RF Honored Scientist GenadiBordovksiy and expressed his hope that the cooperation will enjoy a great popularity and will have a successful ending in our difficult days.

The delegation of the Pedagogical University made a tour around the university and got familiarized with the structure and chronology of the Russian Pedagogical University.
The guests were welcomed with musical performances by the MA students of the university, who are also the winners of international festivals.
