Today, the RA President of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the ASPU Board Mr. Galust Sahakyan participated in the International Conference on “Eurasian Economic Perspectives” in Saint –Petersburg.
Among numerous guests from the EAEU countries the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan was also present at the Conference.
Mr. Galust Sahakyan mentioned in his speech that the Republic of Armenia emphasized the importance of organizing such events as they allowed to outline the integration development perspectives, as well as to discuss the urgent issues the participating countries were facing on daily basis. Likewise, he highlighted the possibility of searching for and finding joint solutions for the current challenges.
Speaking about the Eurasian Economic Union, the President of the National Assembly mentioned that it would provide them great opportunities in the commercial-economic sphere for deepening the interstate cooperation. According to him, by joining the Eurasian Economic Union the Republic of Armenia became a part of the market with approximately 170 mln. This fact makes our country attractive for investments.
More to the point, Mr. Galust Sahakyan observed in his speech that the removal of customs barriers was one of the most important achievements of the EEU which gave a chance to the businesses to reduce financial costs and the deadlines of commercial operations. Additionally, he stated that efforts should be made to ensure that the overall Eurasian market operated with the universal, transparent and comprehensible legislation.
The Head of the Parliament summarized his speech by adding that the Republic of Armenia was ready for the implementation and fulfillment of agreements made within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Within the scope of the conference useful meetings took place with guest representing various sectors.
