Event dedicated to Centenary of Armenian Genocide continue at ASPU

The Faculty of Art Education of Armenian State Pedagogical University has joined the numerous events marking the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Students of the Department of Music Education today organized a unique matinee concert to commemorate the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

 

The ensemble of violinists, Ave Maria choir of the University, the winner of numerous international and republican competitions, poetry performers and singers performed the works of J. S.Bach, D. Caccini, T. Albinoni, F. Liszt, Gounod, S. Lusikyan,  S. Shakaryan, R. Amirkhanyan and Komitas.

 

 

Talking to old.aspu.am, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education Sargis Elbakyan said the Faculty will continue to organize different events to commemorate the Genocide victims. “Our students’ opinion may differ from that of ours on many issues, but in recent days our students have been most alert and “awake.” I assure you that they remember and demand,” he said.

 

The organizer of the event, Head of the Department of Theory of Music, its Teaching Methods and Musical Instruments, Margarita Baghdasaryan, is excited and at the same time proud that the students prepared for the event with great enthusiasm and love and were able to express their protest and heartfelt voice. 

 

Also, the clothes sewn for the violinists and members of the Ave Maria choir by the students and lecturers of the Department of Clothing and Design were displayed during the event.
