Exhibition and a Flash Mob on the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide

Today, an exhibition headed “We continue to live and create” was opened at the Faculty of Primary Education dedicated to the centennial of the Genocide.

 

Within the scope of the course Art Teaching Methods students from various years of the faculty depicted their emotions and feelings about what happened in the 20th centuryon their pictures, posters, works made of putty and other material. 

 

 

 

“From the first sight there is sadness and sorrow on the pictures, but if you looks at even the gloomiest painting a bit more attentively, you may still see a flower and the Sun are smiling”, noticed the Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education Ms. Heghinei Khachatryan and adds that the aim of the exhibition which is organized already the second year is to manifest the principle “we continue to live and create”; life belongs to the future it is by creating and working that all difficulties shall be overcome.

 

 

 

The Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology Ms. Svetlana Maroutyan emphasized the organization of various events within the framework of the centenary of the Genocide and mentioned that the whole staff of the Department is calling for the attention of the unpunished criminals and countries that had not acknowledged the Genocide.

 

The event was concluded with the concert performed by band consisting of students form the Faculty in question, the artistic conductor of which is the Associate Professor Vachagan Navasardyan.

 

Likewise, another unique initiative was undertaken within the scope of the centenary of the Genocide; the lecturers of the Faculty of Special Education, Department of Special Pedagogy organized a flash mob.  It was the idea of lecturers Inessa Haroutyunyan, Sousanna Mouradyan and Sona Davtyan to involve around 65 students who formed a puzzle symbolizing the unification of Armenians spread all around the world.

 

 

The students in their turn, made posters presenting the 26 countries that acknowledged the Genocide and expressed their gratitude; likewise they urged the countries that have not acknowledged the Genocide to do it.

 

“We not only remember and demand, but also oblige”, the students of the flash mob unanimously announce and assure that from now on they will achieve recognition not with a cry but with claims.

 

We would like to mention that the students will make the flash mob organized with the assistance of the “Center of Mutual Support” NGO in different crowded locations of the capital city.
