
Tempus “MathGeAr” Project’s local workshop was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University on 27-29 April, 2015.
The overall objective of “MathGeAr” Project (Modernization of Mathematics Curricula for Engineering and Natural Sciences in South Caucasian Universities by Introducing Modern Educational Technologies) is to improve the quality of STEM education (Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in South Caucasian region by modernizing and improving the curricula in the field of Mathematics.
After ensuring the consistency of the math curricula with the Bologna principles and best European standards, further steps will be taken to modernize math and statistics curricula for a selected set of engineering and sciences studies. Another objective of the project is to modernize [in partner universities] the content and teaching methods by introducing principles of blended learning and new educational technologies.
During the three-day workshop at ASPU, the participants delivered reports on the problems existing in the sphere, organized joint discussions on them and proposed solutions.

“MathGeAr” Project includes universities from Germany, France, Finland, Georgia and Armenia. The latter is represented by Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan, State Engineering University of Armenia, Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of National Academy of Science, National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance.
The project started in October 2013 and will last 3 years.
