Future sociologists participate in interuniversity conference

Recently, students of Armenian State Pedagogical University participated in the IV International Interuniversity Conference held at St. Petersburg State University of Economics.

 

Arusyak Gevorgyan, a first-year graduate student of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology (Department of Pedagogy and Sociology), and Gohar Mkoyan, a postgraduate student of the same Faculty (Department of Sociology and Social Work), delivered reports at the conference entitled “Russia in New Socio-Economic and Political Realities: Problems and Perspectives on Development.”

 

In their reports, they focused on the crisis of Armenian culture and the role of mass culture in the process of spreading socio-cultural values and norms. The reports were supervised by Professor Yuri Gasparyan, Doctor of Social Science, Head of the Department of Sociology and Social Work.

 

During their visit to St. Petersburg State University of Economics, ASPU representatives also met Dean of the Faculty of Sociology Nikolai Skvortsov who tried to share his extensive experience with the guests in a short period of time.

 

On the sidelines of the visit, Gohar Mkoyan and Arusyak Gevorgyan also met representatives of the Student Council of the Russian University. Arusyak Gevorgyan, who also chairs the Student Council of the ASPU Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, presented the activities of the structure she heads. The interlocutors agreed to to cooperate and carry out joint activities in the future.
