Flash mob dedicated to Armenian Genocide Centenary
30.04.2015

Commemorative events marking the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide continue at Armenian State Pedagogical University.

At the initiative of Anna Charchyan, Lecturer at the Department of Logopaedics and Rehabilitation Therapy, students of the Faculty of Special Education performed a flash mob which did not only aim at remembering and condemning the heinous crime, but also at making Turks admit and recognize the fact.

Each of the participants of the flash mob had his role and purpose. Students holding up lit candles symbolized Armenians living in different parts of the world, those in masks were the countries that knew the truth but did not recognize it and those covered in white and red cloth were Armenians and Turks. The flash mob ended with nations, including Turks, taking off their masks, which means they will accept the reality one day, recognize the crime at the beginning of the 20th century and call the massacre of Armenians by its proper name.

Anna Charchyan stressed the importance of the event and said the students demonstrated greater willingness to participate in it and present their demands.
