06.05.2015

“Why? Who can answer this short but tricky question? Why is the world so indifferent?” The matinee organized by joint efforts of the Library Club of the ASPU Faculty of Primary Education and members of the Readers’ Club of School N198 focused on these and other questions.

On behalf of young people, the students and pupils presented their attitude and stance through heartfelt and sincere songs, prose and poetry. Most of the poems were written by the students and will be published in the future.

“There is a river in the world which is not seen on the map. That is the river of blood poured out by Armenians,” said the young people who were commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide. They expressed hope that Armenian people who have celebrated numerous victories will one day do a dance of triumph in Van.

The participants of the events conveyed their confidence to the audience, assuring everyone in the hall that Turkish people who “coloured” the 20th century with the blood of 1,5 million Armenians will kneel down one day.

Eva Mnatsakanyan, Chairperson of the Literary Club and the organizer of the matinee, stressed the importance of the event organized in collaboration with School N198 and noted that such events enable the current generation to assess and revaluate the history of their nation, strengthening national consciousness and dignity.
