KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Every year during these victory days of May, various events are organized at the Pedagogical University to commemorate and honour the memory of victims of the Great Patriotic War who were gone for the defense and victory of the country.

The students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages opened the event dedicated to day of national pride with a minute of silence, after which they performed songs, poems and a presented a documentary uniting the past and present.

“Every single day of the Patriotic War a true feat was at the battlefield where Soviet people demonstrated courage and endurance, faithfulness and devotion to their motherland. During those days 25 million people died, which is every 8th of the population”, the students mentioned in their speech and assured that even though more than half a century had passed still the time was  unable to make people forget their memories and the pride of victory.

“Eternal glory to the participants of the Great Patriotic War, and to those went missing – this is the notion, the value and spirit of victory that a future pedagogue must pass on to the next generations”, mentioned the initiator of the event, Associate Professor Svetlana Magasarova-Adamova.

What is more, a new exhibition headed “No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten” has been opened at the ASPU Academic Library since 5 May; the exhibition is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people against the German fascism. 

More than 200 books in Armenian and Russian languages about the Soviet commanders, victory soldiers, Armenian divisions who fought in the Soviet army and the Armenian commanders of victory, as well as the memoires and albums dedicated to the monuments of victory are all presented at the exhibition.
