Admissions for 2015/2016 academic year announced
20.05.2015

Starting May 5, Armenian State Pedagogical University started admissions for 2015/2016 academic year in 50 specialties.

This year the Admission Committee is composed of graduate students; seven students have been included in different sections [after mastering admission-related laws and regulations] to provide specific information to applicants regarding the profession they have chosen.

Secretary of the ASPU Admission Committee Artashes Martirosyan says the rector's new initiative will be a great help for applicants who are undecided about their future profession. “In many cases, especially in the fields of special education and psychology, applicants cannot have a clear idea of specialization after reading the name of speciality. It is here that MA students [involved in different blocks] come to help applicants, giving them a clear picture of the profession,” he said.

Though Mr Martirosyan declined to make forecasts, he said the  demand for and enrollment in foreign language courses is apparently higher. He assured us that all necessary conditions have been created at the Pedagogical University to organize the admission of first-year student and to enable them to receive a full education.

One of the applicants is Hasmik Stepanyan, who left School N2 in Meghri. She wants to become a teacher of German language and is confident about her choice of the university. Hasmik’s sister also studies at the Pedagogical University and always speaks about the University with great enthusiasm and bright impressions.

Suren Adamyan, an applicant of the Faculty of History and Law, confesses that his choice of the university was partly determined by the positive feedback comments about the teaching staff and learning conditions at the University.

Hasmik Gasparyan, a graduate student of the Faculty of Culture [specialization in Television Journalism], is included in the Admission Committee. She treats her new function with great responsibility and believes she will be able to help applicants with her effective work. “Each of them requires an individual approach. Many get excited, others tremble and hesitate when making a choice of the profession especially after discovering its peculiarities,” she stressed.

The future journalist who has studied at the ASPU for five years believes that many university entrants will fulfill their desire to get higher education at a university that provides the best facilities and conditions to them.

Admission to tuition-free Master's degree program starts on May 20 and will last for a week.
