ASPU Professor attends international conference in Venice

Recently, the 2nd international conference entitled “Restoration and Preservation of Historical and Architectural Heritage in Armenia” was held in Venice, Italy. 

 

The conference dedicated to the centennial of the Armenian Genocide was organized by the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, Mekhitarist Congregation in Venice, Ministry of Urban Development of Armenia and the Armenian Embassy in Rome. 
 
 
The work started at Mekhitarist Congregation on Saint Lazarus (Surb Ghazar) Island. Then, Italian pupils of a vocational school in Florence staged [at Murad Rafaelian College] “Ararat” performance dedicated to the Armenian Genocide.
 
 
The conference was also held at Murad Rafaelian College. It brought together specialists from Armenia, Italy, France and other European countries. 
 
Lalik Khachatryan, Professor at Armenian State Pedagogical University, made a report at the conference. 
 
 
Using new linguistic methods she defined and explained the terms of cultural genocide, considering it from a cognitive-linguistic viewpoint.
 
The Venice conference once again showed the care and solidarity of European specialists with Armenian historical and architectural heritage and its preservation.
