72 students to participate in Summer School
05.06.2015

Seventy-two undergraduate and graduate students of Armenian State Pedagogical University participated in the casting of lots held within the framework of a summer school program initiated by the University.

Thanks to the program held for the second consecutive year, the University students will have a chance to participate in the programs of ASPU’s partner universities and spend their summer holidays in Finland, Belarus, Lithuania, Saint Petersburg, as well as at the University’s training base in Aghavnadzor, Armenia.

The draw consisted of three parts. First, the students who spent their summer holidays in Aghavnadzor in 2014 learnt the name of the country that will host them this summer. This year, they are given an opportunity to participate in the summer school program outside Armenia.

Second, students with the knowledge of Russian and English are given a chance to choose the country they would like to visit: 12 students will travel to Finland, 20 - to Belarus, 10 - to Lithuania, 10 - to St. Petersburg and 20 - to Aghavnadzor. Another 11 students from the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology will visit Moscow City University of Psychology and Education.

By the way, a surprise is awaiting students who will travel to Belarus. Within the framework of the program, they will spend five days in Lithuania before visiting Belarus.

After announcing the names of lucky students, Vice-Rectors Ara Yeremyan and Srbuhi Gevorgyan, as well as Anahit Lalabekyan, Head of the English Language Teaching Department at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, congratulated the students.

Stressing that participation in the program was a unique opportunity for the students, Mr Yeremyan expressed confidence that contact with foreign students will help ASPU students
overcome the language barrier, develop their skills in foreign languages, strengthen intercultural ties and promote the process of internationalization of the Pedagogical University.

This project will deepen your knowledge in history, culture, art and will enable you to get acquainted with the culture of foreign countries. I wish that your wishes and visions outlined within imaginary boundaries coincided,” Srbuhi Gevorgyan added.

At the end of the draw, Head of the International Cooperation Department Christina Tsaturyan, presented the list of documents required for the participation and  advised the students to participate in the training to be held before the start of the program in order to get the necessary information about the host country and its peculiarities.
Also, students from ASPU’s partner universities will arrive in Armenia to spend their summer holidays at the University’s Aghavnadzor-based training centre within the framework of the summer school program.
