The Author of the “Best Essay” is Known

Today, within the scope of the project “Aspire” the results of the essaycompetitionon the topic “Education for all, equal rights, equal opportunities for everyone” were summarized at the Pedagogical University.

 

Students from various faculties participated in the competition; each of them introduced their attitude towards persons with limited capabilities, being sure that the society must realize about the equal rights and opportunities. 

 

The author of the essay “The Boy…”, the MA student of the Department of Methods of Teaching the Blind SipanAsatryan, who has special needs himself, was announced the winner of the competition. He confesses that participated in the competition by chance and without prior decision; in fact, he wanted to leave the floor to those who had no problems.

 

 

“I wrote the story 2-3 years ago; as for my participation, I decided to change the stereotypes in the society with my personal example”, mentioned SipanAsatryan and added that he was feeling himself very well at that University.

 

The Chairman of the committee assessing the competition, Mr. AraYeremyan assured that the best essay was appreciated by all members of the committee. With his work the author changes the way of thinking which is the first step of informing the society and changing its attitude.

 

Members of the Committee, the Deans of the Faculties of Special Education and Primary Education ArmenouhiAvagyan and HeghineiKhachatryan expressed their acknowledgements to the students for presenting interesting and original stories expressing their hope  that their example will be infectious also for the other students. By congratulating SipanAsatryan they assured that certain specifications did not at all restrict his access to the society; he has limitless opportunities.

 

In her turn, the Head of the International Department Christina Tsatouryan who is coordinator of the competition, added that the members of the committee read the essays without knowing the names of the authors, thus, ensuring maximum level of impartiality.

 

To conclude, we would like to mention that the winner of the essay writing competition headed “Education for all, equal rights, equal opportunities for everyone”, organized within the scope of the project Aspire, was awarded a tablet.
