29 April, within the framework of events arranged on the International Day of Dances, the Armenian State Pedagogical University welcomed the dance ensemble of the Tbilisi

On the invitation of the Head of the Choreographical Department of the Pedagogical University, the President of Armenian National Academy of Dance and the President of the Union of Dance-Masters, the RA Honored Cultural Worker, Professor Karen Gevorgyan the Georgian dance-masters gave master-classes to the students of the Choreographical Department.
The Head of the Dance Ensemble of the Choreographical University after Ivan Javakhashvili, the National Artist of Georgia, Tengiz Qurashvili, dance-masters Davit Kikvadze and Eteri Kldiashvili taught the Armenian students the national Georgian dance “Khoromi”.
The high level of preparedness of students and the conditions at the university set especially for the choreographic classes stunned the Georgian guests.
“Armenians are a very capable and clever nation. It is quite possible to set a great Georgian dance performance with these students,” the dance-master Davit Kikvadze noticed.
Likewise, the students were all rapturous about the high professionalism of the guests. “We have so far referred to dances of various nations during our classes. But the Georgian dance-masters so much excited us with their professionalism, that in a short period we mastered the peculiarities of Georgian national dances,” Armen Hovhannisyan, the 4th year student of the Department said.
Let us remind that the whole world is celebrating the International Dance day on 29 April. The day has been celebrated since 1982 to honour the renowned French choreographer, ballet theorist, the «father of modern ballet» Jan George Neauver who was born on that day (1727-1810). Since 1995 it has been celebrated under the guardianship of UNESCO, and Armenia has joined the celebration of the International Dance day since 2005.
