On June 26, Vesa-Matti Sarenius, Head of the Internship Department of the Faculty of Education of the University of Oulu in Finland, donated over 40 books to the Academic Library of Armenian State Pedagogical University.
Thanks to the Finnish colleague of the University, the ASPU Academic Library was enriched with significant donations and rare foreign-language books, those including books by contemporary authors about education, Mathematics and Natural Science, books helping to develop a person’s critical thinking as well as professional literature for Mathematics teachers. “When we merged our two libraries into one and created a digital library, it immediately occurred to me to bring the books to Armenia and donate them to the Pedagogical University,” Vesa-Matti Sarenius told old.aspu.am. By the way, he also donated books from his personal library.
Head of the ASPU Academic Library Tigran Petrosyants thanked Mr Sarenius for the books and expressed hope that the library visitors will overcome the language barrier and use foreign language literature.
He also expressed desire that within the framework of cooperation between the two universities, a department of Armenian Studies will be opened at the library of the University of Oulu.
